Cassie & Caleb got to go up to the ski basin to snowboard. Just had a fresh snow,but very cold. They had a great time.

Here are my landscape painting class paintings in the art dept. at the college. One is the turq/brown painting that started out up at the ski basin as a drawing of dried grasses. Well, you can see how it transformed. The other are the 3 sets of rocks (brown & green) from the Pecos river. Our assignment was to paint a close up view and the 3 had to be similar in color, etc.

We had quite a big group of quail at our feeder the other day. About 20 and they seemed like they were trying to get warm. Also went up to the mountains with my painting class to do some sketching of the beautiful aspen trees.

Here is a project from my painting class. We were limited to only 4 colors next to each other on the color wheel: yellow, yellow green, green & blue green. Pretty challenging. The main idea is to show deep space; foreground, middle and back ground.The black & white is a collage I did of the same scene to get the values and shapes down. We had their 27th wedding anniversary on Thurs. We had a fantastic dinner out and Jim got Holly the traditional roses for each year of marriage.

Yesterday I went to Los Luceros Hacienda near Espanola. Our painting class went there to do some painting. It's a beautiful old historic hacienda next to the Rio Grande. Lots of orchars, beautiful old cottonwood trees, etc.

Here are some of the beautiful sunsets from our house. This month God has really been painting us a magnificant picture with sunsets almost every night. No one could do it better.

Here are some pics of Cassie & Caleb's wedding. God really blessed the day and kept a rain storm away until after the ceremony. It was a grand time. Will have better pics for you to see soon.

Trip to Las Cruces

We went to Las Cruces this weekend for my Aunt Margaret's 85th birthday party. It was really great to see my counsins, my Dad, My Aunt and other family. The weather was warm but pretty pleasant. We also went to White Sands. Here is a picture of Holly, her dad and Aunt Margaret. Also Cassie and Grandpa laughing.

Trip to White Sands

Our visit to Las Cruces this weekend included a trip to White Sands (not really sand but gypsum) Cassie talked us into renting a sled to slide down. We had fun and such a bizarre sight to see. It started to get windy so couldn't stand up on the dunes unless you needed a sandblast treatment.

Addisyn & Miguel

New Kitchen Tile

Jim & I finally figured out what to do with our kitchen backsplash tile. Here are the results. Jim did most of the work. He did a great job.
