Snow Geese Coming in for a Landing

Many years ago we visited Bosque Del Apache with the kids and the sunset show of the Canadian Geese was spectacular.  This recent visit was not very impressive.  Seems like there were a lot less geese and the pond they landed in was too far away to get any good close-ups.  I guess you never know what the animals are going to do.  It was still neat to see them all come in for a landing. They are feeding in the fields during the day and then come to the ponds to sleep at night. The fields are planted with grain specifically for them and the seeds are left behind.   Bosque Del Apache is a wildlife preserve and has a 15mile driving loop.  Lots of short hiking trails too.  Besides geese we saw lots of Sandhill Cranes, 2 bald eagles and 17 deer, and two hawks.
